Ist es schon bedrückend genug, dass die gewählte Rektorin der HTWK, Prof. Dr. Renate Lieckfeldt, vom zuständigen Ministerium des Freistaates Sachsen unter Hinweis auf ihre überwundene Krebserkrankung bis jetzt nicht ernannt worden ist, so verwundert das weitgehende Schweigen der Mitglieder des Lehrkörpers, aber auch der Repräsentanten der HTWK zu diesem Vorgang um so mehr – bei an sich eindeutiger Rechtslage.
Da war bis jetzt nicht ein Professor oder eine Professorin öffentlich zu vernehmen, die die sofortige Ernennung von Frau Lieckfeldt fordern bzw. das Verhalten der sächsischen Landesregierung kritisieren. Wurde Frau Lieckfeldt etwa nicht vom erweiterten Senat der HTWK zur Rektorin gewählt? Wo aber bleibt dann der Protest dieses Gremiums gegen die Missachtung seines Votums? Und wie sind die mehr als larmoyanten Äußerungen des Kanzlers der HTWK vom vergangenen Mittwoch zu deuten? So blieb es allein den Mitgliedern des Studierendenrates vorbehalten, mit einer sehr begrüßenswerten Aktion, der Besetzung des Rektorates, auf den Skandal aufmerksam zu machen und die sofortige Ernennung von Frau Lieckfeldt zu fordern.
Was an diesen Vorgängen sichtbar wird? Es ist nicht besonders gut bestellt um die Zivilcourage bei denen, die verantwortlich sind für die Ausbildung der zukünftigen Führungskräfte unserer Gesellschaft. Es ist eher schlecht bestellt um die Demokratie, wenn eine Institution noch nicht einmal auf die Beachtung ihrer eigenen Entscheidungen zu bestehen vermag, sondern mehr oder weniger schweigend zusieht, wie eine von ihnen gewählte Persönlichkeit würdelos und unanständig beschädigt wird – aber nun vor allem um den eigenen Ruf besorgt ist. Und dann wird noch eines deutlich: es ist schlecht bestellt um das viel beschworene Bürgertum in Leipzig, das sich in Schweigen hüllt, wenn grundlegende Maßstäbe des Rechtsstaates, der Demokratie und der Ethik missachtet werden, und abzuwarten scheint, in welche Richtung das Fähnchen zu hängen ist.
All das ist kein Ruhmesblatt für eine Stadt, die sich anschickt, der 1989 errungenen Freiheit ein Denkmal zu setzen.
